#5. BRADYN SWINSON

57 QB PRESSURES

56 TACKLES

13 TFLs

9 SACKS

3 BATTED PASSES

2 FFs

Flirting with history as a contender to top Arden Key's single season LSU sack record, edge rusher Bradyn Swinson supplied 9 total sacks (the most by an LSU Tiger defender since Key set the record in 2016 with 12), delivered 57 QB Pressures, smashed ball carriers for 13 tackles for loss, cobbled together 56 total tackles, produced a hat trick of sacks during a single day's work (@ South Carolina) while posting 3 total multi-sack games (2 vs Ole Miss & UCLA, all three performances earning him SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week honors), Swinson affected opposition offenses far more than numbers can quantify, and the plays he made usually changed games in LSU's favor.

Keeping the edge, making critical open field tackles, destroying NFL level skill players & QBs, Swinson is now a complete front defender, producing the 3rd ranked stop rate on the team (30 stops, as many as LB Greg Penn III; stops = tackles which force negative plays), meaning the majority of his 56 total tackles stuffed opponents.

As the season went on & LSU struggled against the running game, more teams ran the ball religiously against the Tigers; Because of that fact, Swinson's opportunity for sacks tailed off over the final stretch of games (just 1.5 sacks over his last 5 performances), although most of the successful runs went away from his side, he continued to pile on high pressure, and still made 2.5 tackles for loss during that tough final stretch where LSU went 2-3.

Regardless of any team shortcomings, the 2 year Tiger is ready to make the NFL jump following a final campaign full of high octane development & brutal playmaking.

Assisted by Edge Rushing mastermind Kevin Peoples, Swinson ended his final year ranked as LSU's 2nd best defender, ranked 1st on Pro Football Focus.

From day one in Baton Rouge, transferring before the Tigers' 2023 campaign, Swinson was an invaluable presence for a unit that already produced a meager amount of sacks; Without his production, LSU's defensive line & edge men would've found pressures & sacks few and far between....

....in fact, Matt House learned the hard way just how good his transfer edge man really was last year....when he started Ovie Oghuofo over Swinson for most of the campaign.....and we all know how that worked out.....

Outside of Saivion Jones' 41 pressures and 4.5 sacks, the rest of LSU's entire defensive line & edge men contributed just 9 combined sacks & 76 QB pressures....numbers Swinson basically achieved on his own.

The Georgia-born Tiger simply had to make our list due to his voluminous production, the leadership he displayed for a young defensive front that overachieved on the season (owing a lot of that success to Swinson's incredible range), his pro-ready physique, buoyant athleticism, and an indelible, relentless motor that refused to quit for all 591 snaps of his senior year.

The 2024 2nd Team All-SEC defender finishes his LSU career with 93 total tackles, 82 QB pressures, 48 stops, 20 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, 8 PBUs, and 4 forced fumbles.
