LSU 2024 CLASS BREAKDOWN PT. II

CHECK OUT PART I HERE FOR PROFILES ON COLIN HURLEY, JU'JUAN JOHNSON & TAYVION GALLOWAY

TREY'DEZ GREEN

(TE, East Feliciana, LA)

2022 STATS

864 Yards

42 Catches

14 TDs

-4 in Week 1

At 6'5 and just under 250 pounds, Trey'Dez Green's formidable measurables catch the eye, yet his remarkable fleetwood pace (for his size), fantasy league hands & nasty tackle-breaking capacity is the real big ticket draw.

Among Mike Denbrock's 2024 tight ends room, which will be littered with high profile talents such as fellow 2024 TE Tayvion Galloway, proven sophomore Mason Taylor, 2023 freshmen Ka'Morreun Pimpton, Mac Markway, and Jackson McGohan, Green's size & athleticism still push him high up the depth chart.

One of Brian Kelly's most impressive commitments of 2024, Green possesses all the potential to be a rock star under the lights at Death Valley.

KOLAJ COBBINS

(LB, Destrehan, LA)

Fending off Alabama, Ole Miss, and Texas among many other schools, LSU's defensive assistants (John Jancek & Matt House) worked alongside their recruiting staff to secure Kolaj Cobbins' high profile commitment, making him the 9th member of the class to verbally pledge.

In his exciting future, Cobbins could become a potential mastermind on the field, able to attack from the edge or inside, blessed with a moldable 6'3, 210 pound frame featuring abundant strength, turbulent pace, premium violence in the hit, while exuding total athleticism and aggression, Kolaj has done it all at Destrehan High with one more year remaining to make an even bigger impact.

Adding to a group that's already a top ten recruiting class, 2024 LSU is shaping up to be another elite signing squad under Brian Kelly's regime; due to Cobbins' commitment (as well as more significant LBs to follow on our countdown), the Tigers' future at linebacker appears to be far healthier than forecasted.

DE'MYRION JOHNSON

(DL, Westgate, LA)

The Tigers picked up another 2024 commitment from Westgate DL De'Myrion Johnson, a 6'3 280 pound 3-4 star rated inside talent.

While LSU already did some great work on Johnson previously under Jamar Cain, Lindsey's hire, led by strong work from LSU recruiting kingpin Frank Wilson alongside trail specialist Sherman Wilson, made the young man's decision clearer and quicker.

"I can play for my hometown team and go down the road and put on the purple and gold and rep the Tigers," Johnson said to On3.

Production-wise, Johnson produced 36 tackles for loss as a sophomore at Westgate, an unbelievable number as the Mighty Tigers won a 4A state title in the Superdome (also wrapping up 67 tackles during that campaign).

The 45th rated defensive line prospect in America is now a Tiger, eschewing offers from Florida, Alabama, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, and Texas among others to wear the purple and gold.

Johnson is just the second defensive line commitment of the 16 man class, now joining fellow local powerhouse Ahmad Breaux.

Following Johnson's commitment, Brian Kelly's 2024 Tigers now have verbal pledges from 5 of Louisiana's top 11 rated seniors.

WALLACE FOSTER

(CB, Warren Easton, LA)

Committing as a Tiger last November, Wallace Foster's commitment was met with excitement among Louisiana High School football fanatics more than LSU die hards:

Foster may go under the radar a bit, as far as rankings and big names, although it must be known here and now: Frank Wilson's recruiting brilliance just kept yet another diamond DB home.

The Warren Easton corner is one of my favorite 2024 Tiger commitments:

Cast as a supremely gifted athletic freak of nature, Foster is surely to draw even more attention down the stretch, with his dual prowess at both quarterback and corner proving his pedigree (Wallace tossed 24 touchdowns on offense last fall).
