KAYSHON BOUTTE WILL WEAR #7: FIRST 👀

LSU announced this morning WR Kayshon Boutte will wear #7 for next season, a major honor following in the footsteps of many great playmaking Tigers, from Tyrann Mathieu, Leonard Fournette or Patrick Peterson, some of the program's most iconic players wore this number.

In recent years, there's been somewhat of a "curse" attached to #7 after Jonathan Giles represented the number in 2018; Since then, Grant Delpit wore the number during a trying, injury-laden year (he still won the Thorpe Award), Ja'marr Chase opted out to prepare for the NFL only a month after receiving the honor, Bo Nix juked 2020 replacement recipient Jacoby Stevens out of his socks during a senior year of regression, and of course Derek Stingley Jr's #7 campaign lasted just 3 games....

I expect Kayshon Boutte to break that "curse", with everything set up for an unrelenting junior year.

The #7 comes with major recognition and also major responsibility. Kayshon has an opportunity to solidify himself as a great leader as well as a great player.
