And he was only a freshman....
An elite, next level savage who motored over, ran through, or spun around SEC defenses with impressive panache and expert brutality, sophomore running back Kaleb Jackson owns every tool in the arsenal to become a superstar at LSU.

Gaining 467 yards from scrimmage as a debutant (rushing, receiving and returning for the Tigers), the former Liberty Magnet colossus scored 4 TDs as a freshman, averaging 5.3 yards per carry, 3.7 yards after contact (accounting for 114 of his 165 rushing yards), forcing 11 missed tackles due to his agility, pace & power, plus, he snagged 3 of his 6 total catches for over 13 yards....without question, Jackson is a true triple threat athlete.

Jackson is set to be a key member of Frank Wilson's power trio of running backs, a group led by Josh Williams, the final member of the 2019 National Championship squad who rose from celebrated walk-on to crucial starter, and backed by fellow second year Tiger Trey Holly, the LHSAA career scoring + yards leader who added 110 yards and 1 lung bursting TD during 2023.

Following a workhorse Spring, where Kaleb was one of only two available scholarship rushers, the sophomore continues to rise once again this off-season:

Once a brilliant, but inexperienced physical specimen, now Jackson is becoming more reliable by the day, applying his talents like never before, and displaying a brand of maturity that has Head Coach Brian Kelly taking notice.

Led by perhaps the best offensive line set-up he'll rush behind at LSU, likely receiving far more snaps & attempts than 2023, Jackson should go off for repeated big plays & impact gains during stretches of the campaign, possibly giving veteran Josh Williams a run for the #1 running back spot.

Not only is King Kaleb capable of destroying offenses as a rusher, he's showcased strong snaps as a pass catcher, and even made special teams plays via the return game (a rarity for LSU over the last few years)....as a triple threat for LSU's 2024 squad, Jackson is a player every college football fan must have on their radar.

2024 should be a breakout season for the sophomore Tiger....and LSUOdyssey will be covering #28 every step of the way.

He honestly looks like a Leonard Fournette clone when Leonard was in his top top shape.
