Right around lunch time on Wednesday December 6th, LSU QB Jayden Daniels was crowned the SEC's Offensive Player of the Year, following only days after he won 2023's Johnny Unitas Golden Arm trophy.....setting up this coming Heisman reveal weekend to be a special occasion.

LSU's 3rd Heisman winner is about to be crowned with honors he's deserved and earned all season....finally the dissident voices against JD5's Heisman ascension have been silenced (Ryan Leaf & John Calzano I'm looking at you, holding your clipboards), Bo Nix and Michael Penix played themselves out of the conversation, and now Daniels hasn't just won a single QB honor, he's now starting to sweep awards season, with the Walter Camp, Maxwell, Davey O'Brien, and of course, the Heisman over the days ahead.
After he became just the second player in SEC history to amass 3,000+ passing yards & 1,000+ rushing amid the same season, as well as becoming the all time single game total yards leader when he buried Florida for 606, or following his 50 total TDs (joining Heisman winners Burrow, Young, Newton and Tebow as only the 5th ever SEC player to account for 50 in a season), Daniels was a lock for the SEC OPOTY award....but now his resume is undeniable, not only on a statistical basis, his performances are electrifying on film, flashing brightly off the screen....from his searing, unstoppable, never before seen rushing prowess to his explosive long ball passing precision, his FBS all time leading efficiency (208 QBR), Daniels also stood out alone, holding the single stat that will hand him the Heisman more than any other:
Becoming the first player in FBS history to record 12,000 passing yards and 3,000 rushing yards across the same career, Daniels is adding to his personal trophy cabinet with each passing day....and it will soon need a new shelf.
