America's #1 LB, 5 star Louisiana-native Harold Perkins, commits & signs as a Tiger today, just as predicted in our NSD picks!
This is a massive signing for the Tigers....not only did the Tigers need numbers at LB, they needed the best possible players....in securing Cy Park's thunderous talent, a supreme freak of nature capable of playing running back, receiver and at least two spots on defense, LSU's defense just added some major stability.
LSU Odyssey have been saying Perkins to LSU since the beginning....and I'm overly thrilled Brian Kelly was able to make the signing happen after a fantastic "pull out all the stops" visit with Harold this past weekend. During that visit, all the cards were laid out....things grew intense at times, awkward even...and then the ice was broken....the drink was stirred....and now Brian Kelly finishes his first SEC class with four 5 star talents officially, all hailing from the state of Louisiana: Quency Wiggins, Walker Howard, Will Campbell and now Harold Perkins, the New Orleans-native returning home.
"His Zoom meeting with Matt House is the moment we all knew he was going to LSU," a family member of Harold's told me. "(LSU's new staff) couldn't get enough of Harold. I think he loved the idea of how aggressive the coaches are, he said 'they're a lot like me. This is my team'."
Another family member then added: "He's so happy to rep The Boot. (That) means more to him than anything else (in the process)..."
Over the past three years, playing reps on offense as well as defense, Harold put up 122 career stops (82 solo), 26.5 tackles for loss, 14 pass breakups, 9 sacks, 8 QB hurries, 4 INTs (returning 2 INTs for TDs from 96 and 87 yards), 4 forced fumbles, 3 recovered fumbles (1 returned for a TD), and blocking 2 kicks, a punt & a field goal.
Adding to his defensive prowess, Perkins rushed for 2,445 yards, 34 rushing TDs and 44 total scores (7 receiving) during his career at Cy Park; As a senior, Perkins racked up 1,194 yards & 18 rushing TDs alone, catching 300 yards, 3 TDs and over 20 per catch at receiver.
