Over this past weekend, one of the country's highest ranked D-line prospects as well as a key homegrown 2026 LSU target, Ouachita's Dylan Berymon, released his final 6 schools....and in a rare move for any top athlete, LSU did not make Berymon's final cut.
But for a Louisiana native, a player LSU have courted for years, Berymon's decision to omit LSU was big news, surprising to many, although not to this writer, who interviewed Berymon on the subject not too long ago here.
However, LSUOdyssey asked Berymon just the other day why LSU didn't make his final 6 and here's his unedited answer:
LONN: Dylan!!!! What's up bro! Why didn't LSU make your final 6??
BERYMON: You (are) actually the first person that asked that, but i love LSU, I grew up wanting to be a Tiger, that was my dream school.
When I started getting recruited by other bigger schools in better cities, I fell in love with going exploring other cities and states.
I feel like LSU is a home school for me and I want to get out of Louisiana.
LSU will now be aiming all resources towards reeling in big Richie Anderson, another top tier Louisiana-native defensive tackle.
