The following is verbatim in Colin's words, as sent to this author via direct message on Twitter.

"I normally seem to draw a significant amount of attention to 7v7 events. Players with high rankings, stars, offers and whose recruitment has been trending, generally attract a substantial amount of media coverage and attention.

I really respect and appreciate the writers, photographers, journalists and media members, and I’m very grateful to all of them. They help a lot of players and I’m always thankful for their role. I’m blessed and I don’t take it for granted.

I’m very confident in my game and abilities, but prefer to let my play speak for itself. I had some nice stories written about my play, and I always try to keep it professional and respectful when I interact with media.

The Battle Tournament in Miami is always a great event and it serves as the “kickoff” for the the 7v7 circuit. Miami is also where I was born, so it’s always a good vibe to visit “the crib.”

Mr. Circo, CEO Battle Sports, is a fantastic person. He’s a family friend and he does an amazing job operating his tournaments. People have no idea how hard he works to put on these events and what he does for the athletes. He’s a great guy and Battle Gear is totally “swaggy.”

As far as the tournament, I had a blast. Battle tourneys always draw some talented teams and players. I prefer to make more moves and less announcements, that’s kinda my style; however, the new frame (6’1.5 220lbs) felt good and my arm was fresh and healthy. There should be no questions regarding where one of the top arm talents in ‘24 is, and will be: strength, horsepower, velocity, spin rate, accuracy, touch - all of it, and it’s coming to LSU.

I use 7v7 for various reasons, including competing, networking. recruiting, traveling, culture, brand-building, fun, and the vibes. It’s just a small part of my off-season portfolio.

There’s still a lot I need to work on. I always use the off-season to attack the areas I want to improve in. I’m just trying to get better, each day, and be the best version of me."

Great to hear unfiltered comments from such a talented LSU committed player. We all know he has great ability, but man do I like some of that Burrowesque swag. He, like Joe, has the heart to back the swag up.
