LSU's boundless recruiting hot streak continues to hit hard, with exciting LB Christian Brathwaite joining the team last week, highly prized offensive lineman DJ Chester committing to the Tigers just the other day, while the top DBs of 2023 and 2024 (Javien Toviano and Desmond Ricks) are both closing in on signatures, as both of Brian Kelly's next two classes reside within a consensus top 5 spot.............but on Friday, the Tigers received a huge piece of news from a 5 star quarterback.

Dipping into the state of Florida to win over 5 star juggernaut Colin Hurley, Joe Sloan, Mike Denbrock and Brian Kelly all earned the commitment of a top character, first rate athlete, dynamic playmaker and hungry leader who's stunning maturity extends beyond his years.

Hurley already claims 2 state title victories, leading Trinity Christian as a starter during his 8th & 9th grade years (2020 & 2021). In 2021, he did it again as a freshman, named Florida's Class 2A Player of the Year.

Colin also possesses the physical attributes of a specimen at the position, standing almost 6'2, weighing in at 213 while clocking a 4.8 time in the 40 yard dash. He also recorded a 61 mph pass...1 mph above Pat Mahomes' 2017 NFL Combine record...

Getting to know him over the last few months, as we've witnessed him uploading one brilliant pro-LSU social media post after another, LSU nation have welcome him with wide open arms.

This is a young man who wants to be a Tiger....he isn't playing games or wasting time....he has a goal, a vision....and he's making sure he can put himself in the best position to succeed.

Joining a 2024 quarterback room that would contain then-junior Walker Howard, possibly then-red shirt junior Garrett Nussmeier or second year 2023 QB Rickie Collins, reclassifying from the 2025 class is a smart move by Hurley.

Despite the competition within Joe Sloan's room, everything could line up just right for Hurley to take the starter reins for multiple seasons in purple and gold, much the same goal for Howard or Collins.

Right as the fanbase are falling in love with Hurley's humble charisma, the 2024 QB pushed the commit button ahead of his official visit to Baton Rouge tomorrow.....and of course, we not only had to congratulate him, we felt it was our duty to show LSU nation what Colin Hurley is all about:

LONN: How excited are you for your upcoming visit this weekend? Think about it, you'll be taking on this same team in a few years from now on this same early November weekend...

COLIN: I can’t wait. I can’t wait to get to Baton Rouge. I can’t wait to learn, lead and win. I can’t wait to play Alabama.

LONN: You've been a fan favorite for some time, Colin. LSU nation love your approach, humility and character. You seem to already feel a deep love for the program. What about LSU made that connection & commitment possible?

COLIN: I visited LSU on a recruiting (trip) and I really connected with the staff, program and Baton Rouge community.

I kinda do things different with my recruiting. I don’t chase offers. I don’t play on social media. I don’t do a million camps. I just pick schools that I feel could be a fit. I attend camps and go there with the intention to dominate and be the best QB - regardless of who’s there, or what class they’re in, sir.
I prefer to let my play speak, sir. I prefer to keep my GPA high and my character higher.
I had an awesome visit this weekend and the LSU win capped off a great moment for me, with my decision to reclassify and commit. I couldn’t be happier and more excited than I am now.
Love the program. Love the staff. Love the culture. Love the City of Baton Rouge. I’m all in. Geaux Tigers!

WE WILL BE TALKING TO HURLEY MORE AND MORE! LOOK OUT FOR MORE FROM THE ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ TIGER!
