BREAKING NEWS FROM LSUODYSSEY.COM:
LSU's junior offensive guard Kardell Thomas informed both lsuodyssey.com and the program's staff and compliance office that he will be entering the transfer portal, with plans to enter as a graduate transfer.
Kardell will have 2 years of eligibility remaining in his collegiate career, and is thought to be a hot commodity on the portal market for many programs.
Ranked as the #4 overall offensive guard in America coming out of high school, his hometown Baton Rouge-located Southern Lab, Kardell arrived at LSU with immense promise, only for a season ending injury to curtail what would've been an exciting 2019 season for the freshman.
He dressed for LSU's National Championship victory over Clemson and continued his road to recovery with an extended second year outing vs South Carolina.
In 2021, Kardell was impressive during the latter part of the season, receiving 2 starts and appearing in 11 games total. Over 75 snaps in 2022, Thomas posted the second highest pass blocking rating for LSU on Pro Football Focus, recording an 84.1 grade.
Featuring in 197 snaps during his career, Kardell allowed just 1 sack, 4 pressures, was flagged only once and a run blocking grade of 60.9 in 2021.

Kardell has been a loyal Tiger. At times some fans have talked about him unfairly. I have only the best regard for him, and wish him great success.
